Fishing lodges all have names! Chosen with similar heed given to products like the Lincoln Continental or Vaseline Intensive Care they often refer to water owners feel is their key fishery, Long Creek Lodge, Lake Oswego angling Resort, that sort of thing. The hoped-for drawing power in these appellations rests on the renown of a specific river, lake or stream. Others are more esoteric marketing efforts, created to kindle woodsy images. Animals seem to predominate here, Eagle's Roost, Bear Tracks, Otter's Run, a few that come to mind. Perhaps had I stayed in the southern swamplands where I was reared, Possum Tree Lodge would now be a sought after fly fishing destination for the international catfishing set. I like fly pattern names too, royal coachman, Blue Charm, etc. It's all kind of interesting. Next >
